Abstract

One of the actions foreseen in the Digital Agenda for Europe is that the results of publicly funded research should be widely disseminated through open access publications of scientific data and papers. The Innovation Union initiative called for a framework for the European Research Area to remove obstacles to mobility and cross-border cooperation. According to that initiative, public access to publications and data resulting from publicly funded research should be promoted and access to publications should be the general principle of projects funded under the Union research framework programmes.
